I have to 2 pairs of infinity reference 5 1/4" components (4 mids 4 tweeters). I want to install two sets on each door. Each set came with two passive crossovers (one each for left/right speakers). My question is can I hook up two sets of components to one passive crossover or do I have to wire each component set to a separate crossover? Having four crossovers is a pain to hide so I am wondering if I can use two instead (one for each door, for two sets of components)...hope this not too confusing...thanks.

my first question is, why would you wanna put 2 sets on EACH door?? that really doesn't make any sense to me... i mean, are you going to not use ur 6x9's and use the other set as ur rears, or what? my next question is, where are you gonna find room in the doors for another 5 1/4?!? i'm just dumbfounded by this idea... doesn't seem like a very good one to me... :???:

all of birdhouses questions aside, by running two sets of sepakers off one crossover youll be lowering the ohm load, and thus probably will blow out your amplifier. my best recommendation is to put one set int he doors, and the other set in the rear deck in place of your 6x9s. just build plates. then make sure you run a powerful amplifier and youll get the effect youre looking for.

Thanks for answering the questions about the crossover. As for the speakers, right now i have one set in the factory location and the other in the kick panels. I will be moving the second set just under the door handles. I have already made the cutouts and it fits fine. I have pioneer TS a6969 6x9's in the rear and two infinity perfect 12's subs in the trunk. Right now the fronts are powered by a JBL 180.2...so all four front components get 90watts each. My rears are powered by a Jenzen 340 (60W rms each) and my subs are powered by an MTX 6500D (385 Watts a piece (770Watts at 2ohms is what is listed in the amp test sheet). So my system sounds pretty damn good right now and I am raising the sound stage a little higher as I feel that sound is being blocked (by my/passenger legs ) in the kick panel location. Two crossovers are mounted underneath the plastic the covers the bottom of the dash (above the kick panels) and the other two are in the trunk near the amp. I was just asking about the crossovers so that I could remove the ones from the trunk as it adds about an extra 6 wires (tweeter out, woofer out and signal in for each crossover) and does not look as good as I would like.

Wait a minute...
Running two sets of speakers off one crossover changes the FREQUENCIES of the crossover too.

I have a few questions about your kick-panel install. Did you use Q-form or similar panels? If so, will you be selling them when finished w/ the install? I've been considering the grey Q-forms for my '01 GT Sedan. The plan is 5 1/4" midrange and 1" tweet in kick-panels, 6 1/2" mid-bass in stock location of doors. How poor is the imaging w/ the kick-panels install? Thanks, Dan
