Hello everyone,
I don't know what section this should be in but here goes...

I just bought a 2000 GA about 2 weeks ago and the passenger side mirror is coming loose. I was wondering if anyone knew how the mirrors are held on or how to fix them. From what I can see it just looks like some double sided tape but I figure there has to be more to it than that, so I decided to ask you guys before I rip it off. I have manual mirrors if that makes any difference.

And since this is my first post I guess I'll add a picture of my car:

Its a 2000 GA SE with the 2.4L.
Only problems with it are the loose mirror and the headlights are yellowed a little...but I'll have it tip-top in no time. :)

Also, a little unrelated but, does any one know a good $250-$300 or cheaper head unit or flip up LCD with red lighting to match the dash? I've been looking but can only find Sonys (which I'm not a fan of).

Thanks

On the inside of the door, directly behind where the mirror is, you can pop that plastic off and there are bolts you can tighten. Hope this helps!

It is common for the mirrors to break in the car wash. I would remove the three bolts and be prepared to epoxy the threaded parts back into place. If you try to tighten them, they may break off.

Well the bolts were all tight so I took the mirror completely off and the plastic behind two of the threaded parts was cracked.
So should cheap home improvement store epoxy like this (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=44649-133-44649&lpage=none) hold it or would it just be a temporary fix?

Autozone sells a plastic epoxy just like that if they are closer to you. I bought some just a couple weeks ago. It says it dries in just an hour but I let it go over night just to be safe. I used it on one of my HVAC knobs, somehow one of them cracked all where it slides on....its been fine since i glued it though.

Heh one of my knobs did the same thing, piece of junk. All I had at the moment was a hot glue gun. We'll see how long that holds.
