I dont know if this goes here or not but here goes. I dont have my GA anymore after i totaled it so im asking this for a buddy with 04gt, he's having brake problems. From what he tells me when he applies the breaks he can feel his car shake some but nothing drastic and it only happens some of the time. I rode in it and could feel it but then it went away. What would the problem be? Someone told him to just pull his wheels and cut the rotors and see if that works. Do you guys think that this would or no? Also if he pulls th front to cut them should he pull the rears and do the same? Im lost on a GT's brakes since my 01 had drums in the back. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

My GT kinda does that, but I feel it coming from the front strut. That may be completely different.

It almost sounds like his rotors are starting to warp. When was the last time he did a full brake job, and how much pad material is left? Rotors are about $25 for the Partsmaster brand at Auto Value. GA rotors aren't thick enough to machine any more than they are, especially if the rotor is warped, so he's better off buying new rotors.

if it IS the rotor, replace it with new pads too!

Depends on where he's feeling it. If it's felt more in the steering wheel then get those fronts checked, if it's felt more in the seat of your pants then get the rears checked.
As for feeling it sometimes, it probably has to do with the heat generated. Is it being felt under light braking, or heavy braking? Heavy braking causes more heat and could show the characteristics of a warped rotor more, especially with a stuck caliper......

Rotors warp from not torquing the wheels. You can have the rotors turned. Do not bother with $25 rotors, you are only going to have the same problem soon
