Well i have almost a full day off tomorrow, so i figured i would do a full detail on the Rolla, i bought some products today.

I'll start with a nice wash and dry, move to a soothing clay, then some Megs Cleaner Wax, and the some Megs Gold Class Liquid for the finale.

I've had her since April, i think i have waxed her 4 times? last time was the middle of July, and we have had some funky weather since then, and since i was reading some of the stuff coupe said to Trish i figured the time was right to do something to my baby as well.

I have no pics cuz we live in the stoneage, and have no digi cam, but i thought i would share, and see what ya'll think.

I did a bit of research and a few people said they liked the results of the above procedure...

Go for it, it will look great when your done. If you do that process at least once a year the rolla will always look really good.

To bad ya cant take pics :(

i see you are still on Coupe, i just finished, the above process and she looks fantastic! 90% of my swirls are gone, and the paint looks wet. Especially in the sun she really pops, the pearl red shines!!!

Not sure how the swirls are gone, filled in maybe but not gone.

the cleaner wax doesnt act like a very mild polish? i read on the megs site, and they said it does? Oh well she still looks great. The clay made a world of difference as well, now she is as smooth as a baby's patootie...

You said do it once a year, do you mean the cleaner wax? Because i usually put a coat of Megs Gold Class every few months, i used to wash more as well, but i only have 2 days off a week, cuz of college and work, but i still manage to wash at least twice a month, more if she gets rained on.

Also claying, she is kept in the garage, do ya think once a year for the clay will be O.K. as well. I might just wait until this Dec. do it then and then just do it every preceeding Dec, since it is nice and cool then... Too hot to do it in the summer.

Another question, i am really anal about where i park my car, i need shade, especially here in AZ, it is benificial to keep her outta the sun right. Even so she still sits outside from 8-1 then 2-10pm on an average school/work day.

Well it will but they would have to be extremely shallow swirls, i mean extremely extremely shallow.

I meant the whole routine. Clay, cleaner wax and then wax. You can wax all you want though, as much as you want.

Once a year is sufficient. Evaluate your finish every month after a wash, you will know when it needs it.

To hot to clay during the summer? lol
Try doing FULL paint restorations all summer long.

The sun wont hurt anything as long as you keep it waxed.

Dont park under trees!!!!
Trees drop sap, pollen, birds sit in trees and then shit on your car, branches break off all the time, they drop pine cones/walnuts/acorns ect ect ect ect.
Avoid trees!!!

and about the hotness factor, i guess 110 with low humidity is the same as 90 with high humidity... huh

As far as the comfort factor goes they are about equal.
The problem with humidity is it makes it hard to breath, almost as if there is no oxygen. Probably becuase of the extreme amount of moisture in the air. If you never have experianced high humidity before then it is something that you dont want to experiance when doing manuel labor

For the swirls, Meguiar's Scratch-X works wonders on light ones, you just have to work at it for awhile.

I spent about 20 bucks for the stuff at wal-mart, i'm lucky i get 10% off cuz my parents work at the local distribution center.

How much does a quality digi cam, go for though? I need one... All i need a a cheap one to take pics and put them on either the lap or the desktop..

And if you think that is bad then you should take a look at our 9 year old printer, lets just say color is not it's forte...

I have a tube of the Scratch-X, i bouht it to use on the old GA, but she had deeper swirls and pitting, stuff Scratch-X wouldnt take care of... I also have Color-X that i bought and tried on the GA, i guess i have spent alot on cleaning stuff...

Can i use either of those 2 products on the Rolla? I dont feel i have bad enough paint to warrant those products, or are they very mild in nature as well? Thanks in advance for the advice ;)

DigitalCameraInfo.com WTF.

They have reviews on cameras of all prices and links of places to get the best deals. I used Camcorderinfo.com and saved $230 when I purchased my video camera over what it would have cost at Best Buy or Walmart.

You can get a decent 4MP camera for cheap. You don't need some 10.1MP job like I have. ;)

(Or even 20+MP like the new Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III)
