so i'm working on my mother in laws 97 sunfire and i'm having serious issues with getting the paint to look descent. First of all it is a 10 year old car and it has never had a good old fashioned buffer/hand wax. I dont even think it has ever been cleaned, i spent over 8 hours just cleaning the inside. Anyways I broke out the p.c. and the first round I used meguiers paint cleaner (mild abrasive) then afterwards I put on 2 coats of liquid glass wax on. the sides of the car turned out great but the hood, roof, and spoiler/trunk still look pretty crappy and feel rough. Maybe the paint is just too worn over the years and neglect or maybe someone here (especially coupe) has a secret out there that will work.

Mothers Clay isnt subpar at all, i would use it more if claymagic wasnt half the price.
As far as the car goes i would have to see pics of the paint to be of any real help.
The paint most likely needs to be heavily compounded.
