97 GAGT 2 door 5 speed 2.4l
Has anyone yanked motor from top as i dont see anywhere to hook a chain to and i really dont wanna drop the subframe cause i dont have a lift. And jacking the car up 3.5 feet in the air to clear the engine seems a bit tuff for me as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can take the motor out the top... Carefully. But yes you can do it out the top.

well speaking from recent events. i have "yaked" my motor and trans; and in a cavalier z24 for the trans. how my friend and i did it.... if you have a hook or run the chain through the enclosed loop to the left of the intake manifold and ran the chain and bolt it somewhere on the same side to the engine. you will be pulling it out crooked. i had to take off the the front part of the brake booster.well that is how i did. i dont know how "clean" you want to take it out.

Hope Help (Or gives you an idea)

It comes out the top just fine. You have to take the stuff off the front of the engine, mount, crank damper etc. Its a tight sqeeze.
