Well....I found it at the wreckers for 5 bucks....figured why the heck not. It needs some airbrush or something...maybe some lights underneath it...The paint turned out good, but I need the filler neck. Anyone happen to know the GM P/N for that filler neck? Anyways, heres a few pics:

Pre 99 versions of the LA1 engines. The engine was only used in mini vans until 99 when they stuck it in the Grand Am and Alero. The pre 99 versions on the LA1 came with a different looking upper intake manifolds, they were smooth, there was no 3400 markings anywhere on the top of the engine. Instead these engines came with the cover you see above.

Not just Pontiac. Chevy and Oldsmobile as well. IIRC the 3 vans they were on were the Lumina, Trans Sport, and Silhouette

just make sure you get the filler neck with the cover!! I need to get one before I do a shot of under the hood. Its like an extension for your oil fill on your valve cover ( so the engine cover fits properly)

dont forget about the map sensor bracket. its got a tab that sticks up and has a hole in it so you can secure the back of the cover.
ill see if i can dig a part number up on it.

It holds it down more sufficiently. Is it needed? no, but you should use it. Not exactly hard to install.

its not really needed but like joe said it holds it down more secure.
takes a whole 5 min to install. 10 if your special.

hmm...interesting. Well, I think the only real time this engine cover will be installed is for a show. I dont want it on full time really. So the brackets probably kinda useless for me. Nice Z26 by the way! My other car is a 92 GTZ QUAD4 H.O. . I like the retta with the lumina wheel...big fan!

thanks i knew i recognized your screen nmae from somewhere.
well somehow when my tensioner pully seized awhile back it tripped the airbag light, and everyone i took it to said it blew something under the dash and was gonna cost too much to fix so i pulled the light from the cluster and got rid of the airbag seen as ho it didnt work anyway.

PontiacGA, just do like Dave did with his Corvette engine covers, sand it down or fill it in and use vinyl.

Sorry LOL...I have been out of commision the past few days ( I just had surgery where the sun dont shine) so its really uncomfortable to get around at the moment...pictures will be up as soon as I am better ( wed/thurs...maybe sooner) Thx for the bracket info but I really dont think I need it...the cover is just for show I think. If I left it on year round its gunna end up getting fkd up.
