Hey quick question...Is there no how to section for this yet? I picked one of these up and before I start hackin up wires I really would like to see some pics of how its done. If no one can help I may as well figure it out the hard way! But help is always appreciatted....Thx you guys.

P.S..... I did search for quite a while on here too.

What are you attempting to do? Are you wanting to pull apart the housing and tape an innerlay in (Like I did with my G5)?

Well basically I wanted to run the impala LED strip in the GA housing. Im guessing that Impala LED strip has all the necessary resistors built into the board. ( I was concerned about potentially causing some havoc running LED's with regular incandescent bulbs). So....basically cut the wires from the Impala strip, remove all the incandescent crap from the GA 3rd brakelight and splice it all back up and thats it? Or is there something I am missing.

HOW TO: basically this is a splice and dice away project. It looks excellent in the end. First thing you want to do is disassemble the impala 3rd brakelight. Get a set of needlenose pliers and tug the connectors out from the housing for the circuit board ( you shouldnt have to cut them to get them out)You can use butt splice connectors or solder ( blackwire from GA to black wire from Impala circuit board, Blue wire from GA to Impala Red wire on cicuit board.).

Its a little tricky lining the LED circuit board up horizontally. You want to use a strong adhesive ( GOOP) that will seal the back of the board( and not conduct electricity) to the 3rd brakelight housing. Just make sure your LED's are all level horizontally. Its a tight fit but the board does fit in the 3rd brakelight housing. Total cost was 20 bucks. Tools needed:
wire strippers, crimping tool, electrical tape, 2 #16-#18AWG Butt splice connectors, knife, adhesive and 20 mins of time. *EDIT*
PICS!!!

Well it was one of the most simple mods ever LOL. Its all done and it looks great. ( Pics above) I really was curious if the LED's would work properly though, I ran LED bulbs in my Ralliart and my signal light acted really strange because of the difference in voltage being drawn. But hey, everything worked, no problems! LOL..ya its ok Joe. I was just curious what was the easiest route of install for it more or less...the less hacking, the better!
