its used, i was upside down on the hyundai bad cause of the interest rate i was at, and wanted to stay under $450 a month...for a bbrand new one they were asking $565 a month minimum...mine has every feature under the sun and drives like new so i am happy, next car will be new!
I found out most parts for the GTI will be a direct fit onto my car, and i found a lip kit i like for it "Also shows the front grill kit i have on order Without the GTI Emblems though":
http://www.namotorsports.net/detail.cfm/part_cd/RI59400
and seeings there are not many kits for the jetta i figured it would be a start, I will figure out the rest of the kit soon

Nothing wrong with a used car, my next car probably won't be new.
That lip kit should look awesome on your car.

Welcome to the family! Check out vwvortex if you haven't discovered it already. You can probably sell the chrome grill for a good price on there, too.
Just me warned that the MKV forums are basically a wheels/suspension forum and that a lot of people will hate on the 2.5. Once you get past those, there is a lot of good info hiding on there.

The car came debadged already lol
i took off the wheels and the audio system before trading the car in, I will have to trade someone the wheels for a set that will fit "Since the hyundai was 4 lug and i have a 5 lug now" but i am in the works of adding the system into the new car now...but i cant get over how loud the stock system is in this car!

The stock VW stereo is pretty good excepting bass. I kept the stock HU and speakers and just added a sub/amp and it sounds great. What are you putting in it?

why do people hate on the 2.5? seems like a good motor but definatly not as good as a TDI or the GTI

well, the system that came out of the car was:
Kinetik 2000 AMP High current battery (1)
Polk/MOMO 6.5 components (2)
Polk/MOMO 6x9 Coaxiels (2)
Polk/MOMO c400.1 AMP (1)
Kicker CVR 12" subs (2)
Kicker 2 channel amp
and due to warrenty issues with the MOMOs throughout the year i bought a extra set of everything thats new in the box so basically double whats up there ^^^
I need to find out what speakers i have right now in the car because i dont think they are 6x9's or 6.5's...they look like 5x7's?

I bought a 4 year warranty, but i have had them so long that they were in the "Send off to be repaired/replaced" part of the warranty, so it was go 3 months withoutmusic or buy another set to listen to while they were away haha
and also the only place that carries the MOMO series of Polk audio is Fry's electronics!...everyone else carries only the DB Series!

Very nice car, I am really liking the Vdubs and the Audis, they're really sharp cars. Can't wait to see what you do with this one :)

edit: Started a rendering for the car now, my builder in cali is showing interest in the car and wants to see what i can come up with...with any luck this could turn out to be a fully sponsored project "Crosses fingers"

Given that it's a Jetta wouldn't GLI stuff be more appropriate? Or is it all the same regardless of Jetta/GLI or Rabbit/GTI?

Just a guess, but it's kinda underpowered, particularly for a 2.5L DOCH 5cyl... I guess 170lb*ft is not bad though.
Atmospheric and traditionally injected the 2.5 is not that great powerwise, but apparently they might use a Turbo FSI version of the 2.5L 5cyl in the TT-RS which will output something to the tune of 350hp... I'm not sure if it's based on the same engine but that would make sense.
The TDI stinks up the place though (literally) so I'm not sure why that wouldn't be the most hated.

I think it's the fact that it's 50HP less than the GTI/GLI (or 30 after the bump to 170hp on th 08's), but gets like 8 mpg less. That and all the people in there that put an intake and exhaust on a 2.5 and say they can beat GTIs with it. I think it's a good motor, though for the base model engine, it should probably get better fuel economy.
