You're gunna get rid of your car because it needs an o2 Sensor? News flash, the RSX will need that at some point too.. Weren't you getting a truck in the spring?
You're gunna way the hell upside down on yuor payments... It's a lot smarter to just buy the freaking sensor

i was going to get a truck but it was going to cost to much to run and im looking at getting a import with a 4 with better mpg and i know people who have them with no preblems im just tired of my grand am and want something different and the insurance is a little lower for the rsx.
by the way within my 1st year of having this car i had to buy a new fuel pump, lim gasket ,its leaking oil or something and now it needs a o2 senor.so it time to say good bye before i start spending more money.

We all reach the breaking point at differant times...I had my 97 for almost a year and a half and if I didn't have an aftermarket warrenty I would have been paying more for repairs than the car was even worth. I got rid of it when my warrenty expired.
I am not saying that an RSX is better, but I definitley understand where you are coming from. :(
Good Luck with whatever you decide to do.

I think you'd be happier with the RSX. Check out Acurazine.com for more info.
Oh one more thing, like mentioned above, you will get screwed when you try to trade your GA.

so let me get this straight, you want to spend a few $1,000 to get a different car instead of $140 to fix the one you have?
But yes, the RSX is a very nice car, if you interested in performance the K20 series motors are outstanding, and respond well to mods. The K20A in the Type-S with some bolt ons can be rather quick unlike your grand am.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. :???:
My bet is that you are on a GA forum talking about getting rid of your GA and going foreign...

I personally see it as being financially irresponsible. Hes 21 and trading in a 4 year old car to get a car that is possibly even older. I could care less about what it was, like i already said, the RSX is a very nice car.

don't really sense any make? I mean okay some of the stuff I can somewhat decode, but honestly I can't figure out what that line above^ means.
"...and there not that $$ a 02-03..."
:wtf: :???:
I mean yeah it's the internet but some of that "English" is downright atrocious!

I like the RSXs and really wanted to get one at first til I really realized how impractical the car was. No trunk space at all and the back seats are so damn tiny.
They are a sporty car but their value doesnt hold near as good as you think as I think they were overpriced from the get go.
How much do you owe on the GA and so on??

The RSX never impressed me never drove one but rode in one a few times I'll take my Spec V over that least I have some torque and a nicer interior

Good point, I guess I don’t want to see it cause I was a little irresponsible myself when I got rid of my GA. When you are paying repair bill after repair bill and still making payments you are put in a position to do what it takes and prey you are making the right choice. It is quite frustrating when you go and buy a nice looking car (in which I originally thought and still think of my GA), only to have problem after problem with it in the first year of owning it. I know, I know, such is life and buying a used “new” car…but some people get hit harder than others, and that deserves a bit of consideration as well.
The only thing this guy wants is to get out of it and find a car more reliable and cost effective. And I am all for encouraging that.
I mean okay some of the stuff I can somewhat decode, but honestly I can't figure out what that line above^ means.
Let me decode:
All I want to know is if the RSX is a good car, and they're not that expensive. An 02 or an 03 for $10-15K, that's not that much in my books.
It’s not like I can’t sit here and watch people use improper English/sentances all day long! Some people don’t type/post for hours out of the day like some of the whores here…and still need some advice. But I guess finding empathy on an automotive forum is like looking for a needle in a haystack. :roll2:

I'd try to sell the GA to a private buyer. Last year, hubby and I bought an '06 GMC Sierra for $19K. Trade in on it now is $13K only after 16 months. My GA is 3 years old and they won't give me more that almost $4k for it........ Try to stick with it until it's a bit older, fix the o2 sensor......(why that much anyway?) And get into a better financial situation, if you can, and now seems like you fixed the major problems, it may run forever now.......then again you never can tell. By the way, Acuras are very good and reliable......Almost got me an RDX.

I test drove an 03 RSX Type-S when it was new. Thoughts...
-Torque-less (made my stock 150 HP Quad 4 feel like a monster)
-Need to rev the shit out of it to get any power from it (and this coming from someone used to DOHC 4's)
-Nice feeling 6-speed transmission
-Nice interior, but cramped (hit my head on b-pillar twice when checking my blindspot during test drive)
-Overrated, overpriced. Sure it's a nice car, but it doesn't stand out to me at all.
