I have been searching on this subject for some time now but am a little confussed. My 3 lights will come on from time to time but will go out after I turn the car off and restart it. I checked for codes with a hand scanner and it had nothing stored. Now my car has developed a hesitation when I take off sometimes. Has anyone else experienced this. I am looking into changing the wheel hubs to fix the first problem just wondering if this hesitation is related. Thanks in advance.

Hand scanners only read the 'P' series codes, from the 'powerplant'.
Next time the lights are on, go to Midas or such and have them use their more-powerful scanner to retrieve the brake codes.
Could easily be a faulty sensor wire, so don't just throw money at replacement hubs.
And that's prolly an SVS code that accompanies the ABS and Trac Off, rather than Service ENGINE Soon.
SES is different; is it 'on' now, with the 'hesitation'?
We need to know a lot more about the hesitation than you've mentioned.
It's prolly new, and engine or tranny related, rather than related to your prior ABS woes.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the quick reply.
The hesitation is like what happens when the traction control kicks in and limits the acceleration. It will just stall out like that then take off with no light on the dash warning trac low. That is why I thought the problems might be related. I need to get my car to someone who can read the brake codes.
