Hello. I am in a real pickle and need some help badly.

I bought the SC/T front lip but it didn't come with any of the bolts. So when I went to take the bolts off the Black bumper guard I noticed that they were wayyy to small to use to hook up the Front Lip.

So I went to my local Home Depot about bought 1/4 2" bolts. Unfortunately it doesn't work! BLARG!

After removing the bolts on the bumper guard (the three on each side) i noticed that the guard was the wheel well cover so I left the rest in.

I then tried putting in one of the bolts. It would go all the way through the Lip but when I try to tighten it to the Mounting Bracket it wouldn't go in very far! So I tried putting in the second bolt, lined it up properly, when into the hole but it won't tighten! I twist the freakin' bolt and it just turns as if the Mounting Bracket is broken. After trying for an hour i gave up.

When i re-installed the 6 bolts to hold down the guard they went in perfectly!

So basically, what i'm asking is

1) What Am I Doing Wrong?

2) What is the proper size of bolts i need to use

and

3) what tips can you give me?

Sounds like you got a defective lip. I'll take it off your hands, I like buying defective parts

Sounds like the bolts you bought were way too big for the mounting bracket. Take your bolt from the guard (hereafter to be known as a fenderwell) into Home Depot and tell the people there you need x number of bolts that are just a bit longer than the ones you brought in (they can be any length longer than needed, that's where a hacksaw and wirebrush (preferably on a drill) come into place). Just don't cut them all, cut one to see if it works, otherwise you can't return them. Get some washers on the bolts, and try them then. If it works, great, if not, return the bolts you didn't cut and report back here.
