P8tman is right. Look for the two hoses going into the dash at the fire wall. The hoses should be about the size of your thumb around. Get what it takes to remove the clamps that hold the hoses to the heater core at the fire wall.
Now that you have them both loose get some thing HARD like a small piece of plumbing pipe for a house. cramp it at least 2 inches up one pipe then the other. Get a clamp to thighten the hoses to the plumbing you just installed. Figrue out a way of securing every thing so it don't bounce around while you drive.
Fire up the car and watch for leeks.
Keep at it chiefer, it also made me chuckel a little when you said your were chacing the raditor hoses. But again you were headed in the right way. That's how we learned also. I'm guessing you never had anyone show around the inside of a motor before. You have Guts just trying. NOT that it's hard, most people just don't want to learn or have the guts to stay at it. Home Washer/Dryers are the same. But there SIMPLE to fix, and most folks because they don't know what's inside WON'T try.

Thanks 4k. Yeah im learning everything i can b/c going to a mechanic is kind of expensive and you guys are a lot of help. Nobody did show me the engine completely. I just know how to do all the needed maintence and how to put bolt on parts like intake and exhaust manifolds, plus the haynes manual helps too.

So you feel you know where to look for the hoses now? If you are standing with the hood open looking down at the motor. The hoses are just to the left of center on the fire wall. There about as big as your thumb or first fingure.
Good luck. A suggestion....go to the local Library, they should have some more books. Haynes in my opion are far better than nothing, but there is better books out there. A library normally carries a few different to look at.
Example: I looked for the compression for a 2.3 in the book. Never found it in the Haynes I have at home.
