pulled a dtc off a kia help

hey i got a code po455 off a kia sephia and the definition of the code is as follows...Evap emission control system leak (large)... can some one put this in more laimen terms? what are some dangers/faults of this? if i keep driving it like that? thanks alot--- sorry its a non ga problem but this seemed like the right category to post it in

Sounds to me like the gas cap is not tight or the seal is leaking.

the seal on the gas cap.. should i buy a new one.. so evap has nothing to do with the a/c system or cooling system??

No.

The Evap system collects the fuel vapors from the gas tank and runs it into the engine via a vacuum hose. And yes it could simply be the seal on the gas-cap...either that or a vacuum line somewhere is way busted
