i actually prefer this setup since all the other forums i frequent use this same setup... though i do like to have the quick reply box below the thread for those that find the extra clicking to reply an annoyance... just need to work with the colors of the board to match the old site's colors

Looks good so far, I like how email notifications now say what the person posted.

The colors already match the old site's colors with the exception of forum headings. Is the quick reply not working for you?

I like the new compact style of the forum, it seems theres a lot less scrolling involved, however I miss the Pontiac dart seperating the sections  The color scheme is as you said, pretty much the same.. and we're a lot sleeker looking now.
The quick reply didnt seem to be working at first, but it's here now.. Kudos on the hard work, looks great!

Strange. I wonder if there was an issue with it.

I liked our heading graphics too. I'm still not done tweaking the style, I may find a way to bring them back yet. :)

well boys, I really appreciate all the work you put into it. I kinda would like more separation between the headlines and I was hoping the stickies would stick out more like they used to. That said, I love that you kept the old colour scheme and I do like that there is less scrolling needed.

The missing edit button was just a simple mistake on the posting permissions for the announcements forum that carried over from the old site. It's been fixed, you should see the edit button in this section now. However, you only have 24 hours to edit your posts, after that the button will disappear again. :)

There is still a lot of minor details to catch up on. The stickies are on my 'to do' list. As for the heading separation, you guys are contradicting yourselves. More heading separation and heading graphics means more scrolling. ;)

Remember guys, it took almost 5 years to evolve the old forums into exactly what we had. You can't expect me to have 5 years worth of customizations finished in one evening.
If you see something missing, please use the Bug report thread located here: http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80894

We have a display of recent threads on the homepage, on the right column at the bottom. Is that what you're looking for? Of something else?

I've added a new component to the homepage, just under the GAOTW block in the left column. Perhaps that is what you were looking for?

Give it time Mike. :) If you remember you had a hard time navigating the old site when you first joined too. Once you learn the new software I'm sure you'll love it. I've done a lot of work to make this site match the old one as closely as possible yet still retain all the new features.

Very nice. I was wondering when the forum software would get updated. I love the quick links tab in this version of the software.
Having two skin options can be handy too.

I looks like it is organizing the Recent Threads on the lower right by the last post time whereas it used to be by the time the thread was posted, I liked the old way better because if you want to see the recent posts, you can click the quick link for that now. Does that make sense?

We held out as long as possible, but the support just was no longer there for vBulletin 2.x. We'd have to upgrade eventually, and with 3.6.8 being a stable release, I figured it was time.

Or you can click the 'New Posts' link in the navbar menu. :)

I've re-sorted the 'recent posts' on the homepage to be sorted by date created, rather than 'last post'.

Personally, I liked the style and 'feel' of the old version but understand the issues of losing supprt for it so of course, it would be best to simply upgrade now and get it over with ... in this regard, I am going to just have to learn to like it :)
