Post automerge?

too lazy to find the right thread, but here we go:
an automerge function. if you post something consecutivley within an hour before someone else, the post automatically merges into the previous post and then updates the time of posting with an automerge stamp at the bottom of it (similar to a post edit stamp)

if there were an "automerge" those two posts become one with an updated time stamp

So you want me to install an automerge hack? I'll consider it, but we are trying to hack this new software as little as possible to make future upgrades easier to manage.
