i know how you feel silversmoke....shawn the rims are 18"s with 40 profile tires. its sitting on KYB agx 4-way adjustable struts with sprint springs. it dropped alot more than i expected it to. i was expecting it to ride about the same height due to the larger wheels but i dont think it does. i installed them just today so it hasnt even settled any yet. there will be more pics the come later.thanks for the comments guys.
P.S. notice the dual-post mirrors. :D

I don't know why, but they look more like 19" in the pics. But once again, I'm impressed. I really like the look, it's a hell of an improvement!!! Those are now in my top 5 rims.

very sexy!
Lovin the clean look.
I think I know why they look like 19's to you Shawn, the spokes go all the way out, really no lip so that style always makes the rim look bigger. Thats why I ALWAYS go with 18's just incase of a rim having a lip cuz the smallest they will look is like 17's

you hit everything that i always thought you needed to do on your car. one last final detail is to get rid of the chrome trim around the windows...the GT has black. you can replace those parts, but its VERY costly, all i did was i used black pinstripe to black it out.

Looking at the rims again, I think you're right. It's because the spoke extends past the lip all the way to the tire bead. Neat illusion! :)

You just need to get an exhaust system and s/t kit :)

heres a list of things i still want to do to it:
SC/T bodykit
SC/T spoiler
black window trim
cross drilled rotors
more custom lighting
and more
i love how the rims look bigger then they are. thats for sure. im aligning all 4 wheels tomorow. i cant wait. thanks for all the comments everyone. Peyman, let me get back to ya on the handling after the wheels have been aligned.

Actually,IMHO you should keep the silver trim. Makes the car stand out from other, lesser GT's.It also lends the car a bit of class esp. with your chrome rims complimenting them. Just my .02 cents.

care with the alignment. i got my alignment done with my wheels on end they were scratched and dented and beated to hell. so make sure they are carful. wheels are beautiful hate to see them damaged soo early

I was just going to ask that can you remove the silver trim around the windows but he already answered it for me. your car is looking good! very nice.

thanks for the comments everyone. i really appreciate them.
sammybammy, fear not my friend im doing the alignment myself. i work at a dealership so my friend is just going to tell me what to do and im going to do it.
jblack16, on a 4 door yes you can remove all of the trim. but not so on the 2 doors. you have to cut the 3rd window out to change the trim on the 2 doors.

thanks again for all the comments everyone. i aligned the wheels today after work but it still kinda pulls to the left so im gonna see about trying to fix that soon. i did the alignment myself with my friend just coaching me thru it. its really not hard at all. you jusy have to be able to read numbers on a screen and it tells you what to do. im prolly gonna install my cross drilled rotors tonight, but im not sure. i might wait till i get the rear rotors too. the handling on this car is incredible now. but in the rain the tires kinda lack a little bite. i kinda miss my triple treads. anyways ill keep ya posted.

hey man i havent heard from youn in a while. i have been trying VERY hard to get GAOTW for a VERY long time and i finally got it, and on the week of my 18th b-day no less. :D
excelent b-day present guys. thanks.
plans are to soon go full SC/T and custom exhaust. this week im gonna order my rear cross drilled rotors and ebc pads. im not gonna mess with tint for a while cuz im moving to lima ohio next june and my understanding is that they stick to the rules a lot more then around here. im not gonna waste money on tint im not happy with, or that ill just have to rip right back off in a few months.
once again THANKS A BUNCH for GAOTW

Really? I thought you had to cut the glass out of the 4 doors also; please explain why not. I dented mine hacking the ice off it after the ice storm we had last winter

Yeah i would leave the chrome around the windows and also tint everything. 30% is good but 5% is better haha

Car looks great! Really nice job, as was already said, it flows together very well without being too gaudy or out-there. My only suggestion is to get some tint on those windows, it'll look great with that color and really put a nice touch on the car in my opinion. Even just the legal limit of 35 (here in IN) will make a big difference. Again, great job and nice work, I love how it looks!

Very nice wheels. Nice thin spoke and I can't say I have ever seen them on a GA before. Looks good.

To be honest, with those wheels I think it complements it.
I would say to leave the chrome. 99.5% of the people that see your car won't have any idea it is a SE anyhow.
lowrider2962
10-24-2007, 11:55 PM
johns right. most of the people who look at my car and see the chrome are gonna think its custom probably. i might try covering it with some black vinyl or something just to get a feel for what it looks like with black trim. SE'sarecool2, you DO have to remove the third window on the 4dr in order to remove the trim but its really not very hard. you have to take out BOTH rear windows. the big one has to go so u can push the smaller one foward and then right theres the trim screwed onto the car. its really quite simple. one of these days if i can find some time ill make a HOW-TO for removing the trim. i took all the pictures i need back when i did the conversion so i just need to sit down and type it all out. cross drilled rotors are gonna wait till the rears are in too. my tires are all the same size, 225/40/18 toyo proxes 4. tint is gonna wait till i can make some aquaintance with the 5-0 around lima. im moving there to attend the Northwestern University of Ohio. ive still got A LOT of plans for this beast and theyr REALLY starting to take shape. cant wait to take her to another show soon. she was winning "top ten" before. i wonder what she'll do now.

Great looking car BTW, I love the color... leave the chrome window trim if you want but take my advise and get rid of the pinstripe- its completely unnecessary
lowrider2962
10-25-2007, 10:07 PM
im undecided about both. i think im gonna try to cover the trim with some black vinyl just to see how it looks. if i like it ill leave it, if not, ill take it off. the pin stripe will prolly stay tho. i kinda like it there. like i said, im undecided so who knows.

9th picture down is my current background, very nice ride dude! I'm working on making my 2000 SE look similar, I have some blacked out headlights/taillights on the way, and when it comes summer time here in Winterpeg I will be getting 18's and new rubber, tinting the windows, I will post pictures in the Members Section when I feel it is worth it. But yours is looking great! Anything else planned?
lowrider2962
11-14-2007, 11:25 PM
thanks for the compliments man. im planning on doing a custom dual exit exhaust, building up the engine, new trany (kinda needs it soon), crossdrilled rotors and EBC brake pads going on tomorow. thinking about going all out SC/T but im not sure. possilbly an SC/T spoiler too. window tint eventually, red underglows, leather interior, and more. lol ive only started right now. you should start a thread showing ur progress on ur car before u really get started moding it. show us how ur coming along from time to time. ur car is a GA and thus is worthy of being posted any time. so share some pics with us in ur own thread.
