i honestly never liked the look of the vibe. This does look a shade better but it doesnt look much different from the previous vibes.

I wouldn't say they're beautiful (Old or new), but they sure are practical and suit our needs perfectly, with the cargo capacity of a wagon without the horrible fuel economy, high insurance rates, and overly huge dimensions of most SUVs.

the vibes serves lots of practical purposes, thats why i dont like it. :P

i managed to get a car thats not practical for anyone..and i love that about it.

my toy's less practical than your toy :)

I like the new Vibe better, but don't like either too much. the rents will probably get one when the lease is up on the g6 next year.

Hell, my toy is even less practical than your unpractical rides.

In order to fit any box bigger than my ass in the trunk, I have to lower the 60/40's and put it in through the coupe door. :D

Well... the Vibe is a redbadged Toyota Matrix if you really think about it...

A vibe and a G8 wagon? Why does Pontiac need both. It's the performance division not the giant soccer mom division.

Anyway, I don't like the vibe personally but at least I can see why some do. The Aztec and to a lesser degree the wagon pictured in the other thread aren't Pontiac material. The Vibe is just a lower level Pontiac for a different market.

It sure is. Same as the Geo Prizm and Toyota Corolla. The sheet metal is changed, but the platforms are the same.

......?

Then why do corolla's last forever and the prizm fell apart once it left the dealership?

But Pontiac definitely need's the g8 Wagon. It's to compete against the magnum and other foreign wagons where gm has nothing to compete with.

The Geo prizm has no relation to the Vibe/Matrix. Neither does the corolla really. GM and Toyota teamed up to develop the Vibe/Matrix. Its not just some re badge of an existing car.

I mentioned the Prizm/Corolla to point out that this is not the first time GM/Toyota have teamed up to develop a car. Another example is the Toyota Cavalier sold in the Asian market.

The Corolla is related to the Matrix/Vibe, as it too is on the same platform. Most drivetrain & suspension components are shared.

I almost thought about a Vibe to replace my GA, but then I got knocked into sense by the size of the thing. I don't want anything smaller than a Grand Am to replace my Grand Am. So, since I like Pontiacs a ton, it's gotta be a GA, Grand Prix, G6, or if I'm nuts, a GTO. Now that would be impractical.

The neighbor has a vibe. Not bad looking but the matrix is better.

I drove a 2003 All-Wheel-Drive Vibe at work this summer, and I loved it. The gauges were bright and very easy to read and it was fun to drive.

I've always thought that the last couple years of this generation have been good looking cars. Ever since they got rid of the dark gray mouldings and switched to the new bumpers, it's a decent looking little car.

This new one just looks odd to me. In profile the front end treatment doesn't flow right with the rest of the car. The more awkward proportions now make it the uglier of the two versions.
