Whenever I play a CD it sounds like a record needle is scratching over a record..... it'll do this in intervals of every few seconds....... Play Song...... Scratch.... Play Song.... Scratch......
The Lens Cleaners did F-all... so it wasn't a cleaning..... Anyone know whats wrong with it? and can offer suggestions?

Does it happen with more than one CD, or just one CD in particular?

I would guess that a CD or more is scratched. You'll laugh at my home remedy for this (there are money out there) but lick or blow fog on the CD and wipe it off with an old T-shirt, and all should be well. Only works for minor belmishes though. My wife laughs at me everytime I do this...lol

LOL, nah, this is with any CD. even the lens cleaner LOL..... i heard the head can just pop out of place if you hit the wrong bump while driving, and once that happens, the CD player is pretty much useless after that.... grrrrr

Hmmmm... Possible loose wire, or a speaker wire grounding out?

teh stock CD players are pretty cheaply built. theres only one support for the laser (versus multiple ones on aftermarket stereos). you might be able to get it fixed, but its gonna be expensive and it could happen again. best solution is to get an aftermarket stereo.
i just thought some something...what if a comapny made an aftermaket stereo that used a face from a factory one, but gave you 4 volt preouts and better electronics inside. that would sell really well.

I had the exact same problem, and the guy at Best Buy offered the same solution.
I figured it was pretty stupid to invest money getting it fixed and just got a whole new headunit.
I didn't believe that using RCA preouts instead of hi inputs would give me better sound from my subs, wow I was wrong.
