I currently have two type r's pushed by a hifonics bxi 1606. I want something with at least 1600 rms. I was thinking about the Cerwin Vega Stroker powered by the mtx thunder ta92001 which would give me 2000 watts rms at 2 ohms. For some reason I havn't seen that many reviews online and I'm curios to what you guys think of them. If you don't like it could you suggest what sub/subs you would get for around 350? Also I will add that I read the good bad ugly thread and saw that Cerwin Vega and Mtx amps were in the reccomended section but I want to here your experiences with them

try to listen to them before you make any decsions. i thought Cerwin Vega was a company that made P.A. speakers?

check out Fi Car Audio. Their BTL series is in the $350 range and handle 2000. They are good subs. www.ficaraudio.com

just because the Cerwin Vegas and that MTX amp are of a higher wattage than the type-rs and the hifonics amp doesnt mean that they will be as loud or louder. for example im only running 400 rms @ 2 ohms, but my subs have a higher sensitivity than my friends that run Rockford P2s with more RMS than me and i sound just as loud

plus you have to look at box specs, woofer specs, wiring, etc. so you really have alot to think about.

... I have an older pair of 10" CVs in the back on my GA driven by a Punch75 and it hits decent, nothing compared to much higher end systems but if works great for me :)

I agree on checking out fi audio. Maybe a fully loaded bl or a btl, matters what u are looking for? A daily pounder or an spl car? For example u would need the cooling option on both of those subs if ur just wanting a daily pounder.

i've seen cerwin vega strokers put out some pretty decent numbers. never owned any CV car audio, but i've had some home audio speakers that HAMMERED. those were some bad muckerfothers, i miss them :(

You talking about getting the old stroker or the new stroker? I know the older ones were only made for spl and not for music.

I appreciate all the suggestions. Still not sure about them but I'm also thinkin about the Orion HCCA 15 that seems to get good reviews but its also more expensive.
