My leak happens after really bad rainstorms or after the spring thaw. After the spring thaw is when it REALLY gets wet.

92 - 98 all seem to have this problem.

most common things I've come across:

1) Hole in firewall above passengers feet. Peel back carpet and look for rust stains on the bare metal floor / firewall. follow them up to the hole if there is one.

2) Leaking fresh air duct seal. Gotta remove wipers, and cowl to get access to this duct, remove it, clean, and reseal it with silicone.

3) Leaking windshield

I've also heard of water coming through the rubber tube that goes over the steering column

its not the fresh air induct, or the windshield, could be in the fire wall as i have already had to go in and grind rust off the fire wall and fill the little holes....

I have a 97 that flooded into the rear floor area. I removed the cowling vent cover, and used seam sealer and resealed it all, and around the vent duct that has the door, it has not leaked since, at least my daughter hasn't called me about it. And we have had lots of rain. The factory didn't seal it too well, and I think the funky gasket around that duct leaks too. I have read about a guy putting a plate over that duct above the door and leaving a space so the air still flows but won't let water drip in. I have not had a problem with that. Also I have read that on some GA's the windsheild will leak at the ends because it wasn't sealed good. Just some things to check.

My neighbor used that black, thick roofing cement to seal a leak on the firewall. It's kind of thick and you can slather it on with a putty knife, and even mold it just a bit too. And... it lasts almost forever too.
Of course it doesn't look the best, but if you're going nuts with a firewall leak, you probably don't care what that black stuff looks like....

I also used that stuff with an old Olds Cutlass I had; it had a leak in the floorboard under the rear seat. I used an old paintbrush and slathered that stuff all underneath the car and it was the last of that leak.... sealed it all up permanently.
Damn stuff sticks to everything; you won't need worry about it coming unglued or unsticking. And if you're using it underneath the car, who cares what it looks like... it's black anyways any nobody will see the damn stuff, lol....
