I just installed a Kenwood HU into my 2005 SE. The unit has power (CD player runs when "eject" is pushed) but nothing else happens...no display, no sound. Now, when I put the factory radio back in, same thing. Power, and lights, but no display or sound. I got the harness with the chime box, and I've checked the wiring 3 times. What the heck did I do?

omg, i had the same problem yesterday. Do u have the monsoon? if so, i called Custom Sounds and they said monsoon you have to do different wiring. it has to power up the amp or something like that. I never had to do that in my old GA se. i dont know how to do it but im gonna have someone do it for me. it did this to me on 2 different kenwood head units

Everything else is factory. I haven't gotten that far yet.
I think it has something to do with the amp, but I have to look at it this weekend. Are there any suggestions as to where to start?

Sounds like its a blown fuse. Check the fuses in the vehicles fuse box. Since the OEM radio also is having the same symptoms, it sounds like thats the case.
Did you leave the factory speakers in or put new ones in? One of the speaker wires may be shorting out.

The HU was my first step.
Maybe check the radio fuse on the side of the console by the door.
