hey everyone i want to run an alpine 9885 HU with the stock monsoon system caps off with an alpine 450 amp and a dvc type s 10. basically stock system with a bit more bass and the hu for features. i have never taken the stock unit out so i was wondering how the monsson amp hooks up. obviously you find the remote wire and hook it to the decks remote but are there rcas in behind to hook to the cd player? also curious of the most recent wiring harnesses and if any of you have had luck with with the steering control harnesses.

been looking for the harness is it GMOS-01 or the 04 version? also heard about the GMRC-01.

the GMRC-01 is the harness with the chyme module in it. that is the one i have. works great, it's just plug'n play. the GMOS-01 i believe is for the grand prix. you are right with the remote wire but there aren't any rca's for the stock amp. you just connect the speaker wires(all color coded), and the wires go to the amp. I don't have the steering wheel controls so someone else will have to help you out there.

ok so basically all i need is the harness and everything should hook up properly?

BUT you will still need to run RCAs, and a remote wire from the back of the HU for the new Alpine 450 amp you mentioned.

then its just a matter of running the power and ground cables to the amp as well.

The GMOS-04 is going to be the better one to go with. Just make sure your deck has front and rear RCA pre-outs so you can still have ballance and fade over the system.
