My rear speakers are not working and I have checked connections so Im planning on running new wires to the rear speakers. I have a 1999 SE can someone tell me what gage wire I should use. I have access to wire here at work so I will keep the same color code just need to know the gage to use. Im planning on splicing in at the head unit and just before the connectors at the rear speakers.

Now and then the rear speakers will come on for a short while which makes me think its a connector. I have put a different radio in and the same thing happens so its not the radio. I also checked the connectors at the radio and they seem fine.

thanks

I would say maybe 12 or 14 gauge, the speaker wires for my subs are 12 ga so you shouldn't need a larger size than that.

are you running a stock or aftermarket hu. Either way theres a good chance the amp has blown a couple channels which by coincidence happens to be the rear 2 channels. If you have access to another hu (if you have an aftermarket maybe you have your stock hu laying around to test) i would hook that up and see if you get sound going to your rear speakers. If you do then your hu is shot. Also check your fader and make sure you dont have it set to front speakers only. If you are just running juice from the hu to the speakers then 16 ga is fine. If you want to run an external amp to then I would go more like 14.
