my 4 channel amp can be bridged with a simple switch. thus turning the 4 small channel terminals into 2 big ones. my problem is the low frequency passover and bass boost only work on the rear output setting. now when i bridge the amp to run my 2 subs, can i wire both subs to the rear output only so they both get the low-pass option? will that make the amp run harder? any help would be appreachiated. my amp is a Pyramid Super Blue Series 1000 watt x 4 channel PB449X and the subs are Kenwood 12's 750 watts (175 RMS) if that info helps with replies

when you bridge the front and rear they should both become low pass.

what impedence are your subs?
I'm not sure what dave meant but just bridging the amp will not automatically set the amp to a lowpass x-over setting, so if your front channel doesn't have a lowpass x-over then you'll want to use the rear channel only.

my subs are 4 ohms each but can be a total of 2 if wired in parallel. if my amp only has cross-over on the rear can i just wire my subs in parallel on the rear only and still have them pound? will i have amp or sub problems?

With a pyramid amp wiring the subs in parallel to 2ohms will most likely give you problems.

disregard my first comment.

that amp is designed for use as a 4 channel or 3 channel amp, meaning run speakers off the front and a 4 ohm sub off the rear. jaf is correct about the pyramid amps not taking well to 4 ohms.

no, dont run a sub off the front. as you saids, theres no low pass filter for the front. youll blow your sub. you need to give one way or another, either loose a sub or get a new amp.

You can purchase a separate crossover and skip the internal crossover all together. Then bridge the amp...

what are the complications if any if i do run both subs off one channel? i.e. the reaer?

If you parallel the speakers you're gonna burn up that amp.

wont it run better though if it runs the subs together off a 2ohm load? i kno the 2-channels are designed for 4 ohm loads but wouldnt a 2 ohm load work as well? what about a series setup somehow? where can i buy an external crossover for the front channel so i can use both channels?
