can the heads from a pontiac G6 br bolted on to the 3400 motor? and by bolted I mean no modifacations like cutting or drilling. has any one on this forum done and completed this? thanks for the help.

In short, yes. You'll also need a 3500 (LX9) LIM to go with them. (And a set of 3500 gaskets). You'll also find that the 3500 heads slightly lower your compression ratio. but not to worry , the improved flow is worth it.
I suggest that you do some searching over at 60degreev6.com, this topic has been thoroughly discussed.
BTW, I have ported 3500 heads, LIM, plenum, and a billet 65mm TB on my '05 3.4 GT

The 3500 top end swap, by itself, will not cause any DTC's. That said, if you need to mod sensor cabling and other minor changes, (depending on the 'age' of your 3400) and it's not done correctly, then, yes, you can set a (minor) DTC. It's not the end of the world. If you are interested, please check the existing threads here and on the site posted previously. the various minor considerations have been thoroughly discussed, fixed, pictures posted, etc.
