i already have an exhaust and soon to put in a cold air intake. I'm wondering thought what other kind of modifications i can put on to make my grand am louder. Not anything to complicated but enough to give it a deeper throatier sound. Thanks if you can help

you should get yourself a header,i got mine from rsm and it sounds deeper and louder on my 2.4 and i noticed a nice deal more power

The point is to not make your "car" louder, but to make your engine "scream"

Ins & Outs is what will do just that. I/H/E Intake (short ram, cold-air), Header (RSM racing has a good one), and Exhaust (Full Cat-Back system)

That will definitely do the trick.....

a high flow cat or no cat at all (although i dont recommend running w/o a cat, makes it extremely loud) both contribute greatly to sound and loudness. i woudlnt do headers and a cat back and leave the downpipe and cat stock, because that would work against your other mods instead of making them work together to get overall better performance and sound.

Exactly what they said.

You want your engine to scream do the following...


1. CAI
2. Exhaust (Cat back)
3. Headers
4. Supercharger


If you get the top of the line SC, you will definately have a nice SCREAM

I would also recommend adding a high flow catyalytic converter to that setup if funds allow for it.

get the header if ya find one that fits yours, and the high flow cat. i'm still looking for a header to fit my '97se
