Hi I'm still kinda new in this site (but a high poster on GAGT.com) I have a borla catback without resonator, changed the 2.25inch piping to 2.5inch, ZZP 2.5inch downpipe, magnaflow 300 cell Highflow cat and Grand Prix GXP tips... I just bought a SLP muffler off a member here, and will it sound louder than the Borla? I want it to sound like a V8 when idling and when i drive around...

here's my video:

Wow, never noticed your location untill noticing your plate! You win for farthest North member I think!

Exhaust sounds good by the way, wish a 4 banger could sound that good :P

SLP is louder than Borla.

IMO, SLP is to raspy sounding.
Borla sounds much more refinded.

Thats true.....but SLP with highflow cat sounds like crap at WOT, to me it sounds like a popcorn maker.
I did work to my exhaust like the first post, everyone says it sounds mean.

here's my drive by one:

It isn't ever going to sound like a V-8. You need two more cylinders for it to sound like a V-8.

part of the raspyness is because people with an SLP setup dont have a res. I had the same issue with my custom setup with a borla muffler until I added my res

If I were you bro, I wouldn't touch the exhaust. It sounds great with Borla. You have one of the cleanest and smoothest sounding exhaust systems I've heard on a Grand Am. The only setup I like as much as Borla is a Flowmaster 80 setup.

That's what I thought, but my friend thinks my V6 Grand Am sounds like a new Mustang Gt and one guy at my work thought a loud Camaro was comming into the parking lot. A Flowmaster 80 setup does wonders for a Grand Am. But of course you need to make sure you get it done at a very experienced and trustworthy shop.

Thanks, the car goes in the shop on monday to get my exhaust fixed, I'm keeping the borla on, I just want my tips pushed back, and its hitting the heat shields.
