Well, finally got the subs wired and hooked up today. I have an Alpine CDA-9883 HU, Diamond Audio D3 1000.1 amp, and two Image Dynamics IDQ-12 subs running at 1 ohm. I used Knu Konceptz Kollosus wiring. I'll have some pictures soon once I have spare time and the camera. I decided to go with this setup because I didn't want some Wal-Mart brand that I'd replace in a month or two.
(shows how much my town knows about audio) According to one of the people most known for car audio (kid my age), there is no such thing as an amp that can hit 1000 watts RMS :roll2:

Yeah, I'm thinking of Polk db5250 or db5251 comps for in front. It sounds pretty good, just gotta fix some wiring issues and get it tuned to my liking.

The IDQs sound great, nice tight bass. They don't get as loud as alot of subs, but I knew that because they seem to be geared for more on the sq side than spl. They still bump pretty good though.

Box needs carpet, I know. The speaker wires will be shortened.

Same kid also makes only boxes that fit the space, doesn't regard the sub specs and has hooked up amps using 12-16 gauge wire while running it along the fender into the car with NO fuse.

Man that kid sounds like a pro! haha thats some funny sh#t, yea i know alot of people who think they can just build a box not by the specs of the subs and think its going to sound good, or people that just stick a port in a box and not worry about what its tuned to and think its going to sound better. Im not hating on beginners i went through some funny stereo installs but people who talk the talk but there systems sound like crap make me laugh.

Diamonds amps are the best thing they make..they are very efficient amps..kinda pricey tho
Diamonds comps are really good to...just there higher end one's
Diamonds subs are average at best...better can be had for the money
Anywho..Nice clean install...have you thought about something else to wrap the box in?? Vinyl, Suede??

I had been thinking of doing carpet that matches the trunk carpet but that may be a little plain. I could always do vinyl, maybe black with a silver arrowhead between the subs. I'm gonna be helped by somebody that does upholstery for a living so it would be easy.
Chaun, that's what eBay is for, the amp was $270 shipped. All in all I spent $800 on this setup.
Wow, sorry about that, didn't remember that Derek was still logged in.
