Okay. I have been around the block. I've been around the city! I cannot for the life of me find anyone that has had flowmaster super 44's on their 3.1L 96-98 grand am. I want to know how they sound as I cannot find any sound clips or examples period. Flowmaster claims they are the most agressive sounding, loudest, highest performance, mufflers they manufacture.

What is everybodys opinion on them?

I'm about to have 6-700 dollars to spend and I want the most extreme exhaust money can buy aside from straight pipes. (Burnt valves? No thanks!)

So do they sound good or no? I'm 17. Interior resonance is the least of my worries!
Please help me decide whether these mufflers are for me, I've seen and heard flowmaster 40 & 80 series and their just not loud enough..

--*Edit* I'm also in search for a cam that will support mild to fairly heavy mods. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Ty.

Okay I just went to my local muffler bros place. They said $535 + tax for 2.5 inch from the cat back to dual flowmaster-super44's w/ gibson tips..

Anyone think thats HIGH AS HELL?
Or have I just not been around long enough to really spend my 'pocket change' on performance mods.

Lemme know what you think,. and if I should go get more quotes.

If its noise you want...

and I bet open downpipe will sound better than any muffler will.

Ever held one of those SLP Loudmouth Resonators in your hand? They are hollow! I helped my friend put that exhaust on his mustang...and that has to be one of my favorite exhausts ever!

Back to my original question though lol..

Is 535 + Tax kind of high for an exhaust job? And i started to ponder whether 2.5 inch pipe on flowmaster super 44's is going to lower my backpressure too much?

I have about $450 into my custom downpipe back. Might help if you buy the mufflers, tips, and catalytic converter yourself at summitracing.com or somewhere then take it to them to install it. I did that and they charged me $175 for piping and installation.
