Vandalism and garage break-in

Last night someone broke into my garage through the garage's back window. It appears they used my own scissors and can of spray paint that was sitting on my utility table to vandalize my car... Along with writing "F*g" on the inside of my garage door. All 4 tires were slashed, all 4 wheels were scratched and painted, my headlights and taillights were all scratched to hell and painted. I'm just glad I locked my doors when I parked it for the night. The police came and took pictures and information. Now I have to get a quote for all the replacement parts necessary to restore my Z to original status. Don't really know my mood right now. I'm feeling anger, confusion, and depression. Sad people would go through this much trouble to vandalize my car.
I'm just glad they didn't do any harm to the body, at least none that I can see yet. And no windows were broken.

YUCK!!!! ... are the rims scratched up or 'just' painted? ... just curious as it might lessen the overall cost of the claim if the rims can be salvaged :( ... hope they catch them!

The wheels were scratched as well. The paint covers the scratches. Found it out the hard way after being happy that they might have been just painted, then I removed some of the paint to see scratches.

Police just came and took pictures. I don't know if it'd be worth fingerprinting the scissors and can as they're covered with mine, my parents, and many of my friends'.

I don't have any known enemies. And I'm just hoping that someone will brag about it or something. I'm not telling anyone, so anything else that knows had to have heard it from someone else.

They didnt do anything to the rest of the car? Thats weird that they would do all that but not actually scratch your paint or anything. I hate people like that.

Just some paint on the front bumper, hood and fender. No scratches on the car's body. I'm just thankful they didn't smash in my windows.

wow, this really blows. wasnt that car keyed a little bit ago? its bad enough when someone vandalizes your car while its parked outside, but to break into a garage and do it, they must have had a motive. ill bet its road rage of some kind, you sure you didnt beat anoyne in a race, or cut someone off? maybe it was an ex-girlfriend.

Wow that sucks bro, believe me i know exactley how you feel! i had the same thing happen to me but instead they thre a brick threw my back window. Is your garage connected to your house? Maybe your parents home insurance will pay for it. Do you have full coverage? Im sorry to see this bro especially to the Z! Your doing the right thing by keeping your mouth shut. Thats how i found out who vandalised my car, they started to brag about it and well..i cought them. Keep us updated and i hope everything works out for the best for you!

Guarantee its someone that you know and that knows you. They are jealous that you have a VERY nice car and they feel that they did this it would make them feel better. No random person breaks into a garage and did what was done and not steal anything,only vandalism.

that would explain why the body is undamaged. its someone u know who was jealous of ur ride that decided to mess some stuff up for u to try to make themselves feel better, but didnt have the heart to damage the body of such a nice car. so where was the GA did they do anything to it?

Ha my taillights were already smoked :( And they murdered the overlay which took me about 2.5 hours to get on right...

I'll eventually find out who did it... The person has to brag to someone and it'll eventually get back to me. I hope anyway

Now that I think about it, a grown man isn't going to break into a garage and just do that to small bolt on parts, this is a message targeted to YOU, a grown man is more than likely going to practically dismantle the car because hes in a garage where he can't be seen. dude g@y, yeah when my car got egged I found out it was some high schooler, lets say his nice expensive tires he had on his moded prelude got F***ed up, he even tried to fight me after he found out i messed up his car, (fyi im 6'5 and a little over 200Lbs) this kid was maybe 5'8 and scrawny soo he quickly learned what battle to run from.

Vandalism sucks I wanted to kill that kid, jail isn't an option for me.

Unfortunately my backyard is indeed very accessible. The back yard stretches 8-10 houses down from mine.
Claims adjuster will be here tomorrow at noon to confirm the damage.

Finger print? I think people need to realize police RARELY ever do that. TV has ruined everyone's hopes of catching these kind of people.

When I got robbed at a previous job, they fingerprinted. So they still do it, atleast in my situation.

They then took our fingerprints (mine, my mothers, my grandmothers) to exclude them from the possibilities.

However the problem lies in that the Police do not have enough time to fingerprint match, then back their case in court on the fingerprint evidence alone just for vandalism or petty theft, its not worth it in their eyes.

Yep. Unless there are prints on file with the FBI, or known suspects to find and subpoena a print from, you're not likely to get far.

The issue comes in the fact that there are millions, if not billions of fingerprints on file at the FBI also, which it woudl be impossible to scan through them all. Its not like CSI where they can easily scan the print against a database and have a match in 2 minutes. The Technology is just not there. The scanners they use for the FBI prints just scans the entire card at once and not the individual prints.

of course they'd take fingerprints. it's vandalism. unless the cops in your area are just lazy.
hopefully you can find out who did it and then beat their asses.
