I have a 1999 grand am with a factory stock cd player with steering wheel controls. My cd player on the radio doesn't work anymore. I found a factory cd player out of a 1998 grand am (looks to be the exact same model as mine) at a junk yard. But the car it is in doesn't have steering wheel controls. Will my steering wheel controls still work with this cd player or do I have to keep looking for another grand am with steering wheel controls? As long as the cd player is the same model as mine the steering wheel controls should work, correct ?

I believe it should work just fine in your GA

Can anyone verify this? Because they are selling it as is, and my steering wheel controls are a must !!!

Thanks for the quick reply Jibo

My mom had an aftermarket CD in her 1997 Sunfire that got jacked twice. The insurance finally said they would allow us $200 to buy a factory unit. We hit the yards and found one, but they couldn't test it. I pulled out the factory in my GA and fired it up. All funtions worked fine. It was actually a nicer unit, so I gave her mine, and kept the other in the GA.
