Hello,
I have A 2003 Grand Am GT Sedan and I hear a some kind of a clicking sound emitting from the dash area when I put the defrost/heat on. Is it because it was sooo cold that it was being defiant or is it something else? After the engine warms up, it goes away. Is it something to worry about? I live in MN and it was really cold the day it happened. Has anyone heard of their cars doing this when it's super cold? Any thoughts?

Thank you!

It could be a leaf or other debris in the vent ducts.

How much of a pain is it to get to the fan? I've had the hood up twice. Once to check for leaks when I bought the car, and once to confirm a 3.4L engine. heh

The blower motor is under the dash on the passenger side. I don't think it's accessible from the engine compartment.

Ahh.. Nice. With the Camaro and Sunbird, they were external units. But I betchya its more of a pain in the nards working from under the dash.

Does the fan seem to be working as well as normal? The blower fan on my old Riviera was working intermittently, and when it did work, it was making a ticking noise. I assume it was a bad bearing - the replacement worked fine without any noise, and there were no obstructions when I pulled the old one out.

My 2002 does the same thing. I fixed it with the stereo.:D:D
