Hey everyone,
I have a clifford RSX3.5 remote start and security system. It has been installed for about a year and a half now and lately has been having an issue. The remote will be next to me, so no accidental button pushing, and I will hear the car start, then the remote does the beep as if I pressed the buttons to start it.
Anyone have this problem with there setup? I have heard of people claiming that garage door openers start their cars. Or, could it be just a hardware malfunction? Any help would be great!
Thanks
Randy

Yeah dude I had a problem like this..turned out I pressed some button that put it on intervals to start so it would do so like every 30 minutes. That might not be the case with yours but it's somethin to look into.

oh yeah thats a good possibilty.... I will have to take a gander at the manual about the interval starting thing.

I had that happen with my Viper. Hit the wrong combination of buttons on the remote (actually my son did) and it put it on 'keep warm' mode where it starts on its own on a preset interval. Look through your manual, I think it's a pretty common start mode.

I was thinking the same thing. Mine has that feature, as do many others. Some are based on time, some on temperature. Consult your manual and turn it off if needed.

I want to say mine will also monitor the battery voltage and start the car when it drops below XXX value. Never set mine up to do those things though.

That sounds awesome to use while sleeping at a rest stop in the middle of winter. :)

Unless you're a light sleeper, heh.

Speaking as someone who has done this on many occasions, having the car start by itself every now and then is immeasurably preferable to waking up freezing your nuts off, turning the heater on, going back to sleep, and waking up 30 minutes later sweating your nuts off.

thats not too bad of an idea.... but since my exhaust wakes me up when its in the garage and im sleeping i dont think that would work so well.:)
