ok, i really dont think my question was answered from a long time ago, but just straight - can a 6.5" speaker fit in the stock 4x6 spot w/out cutting, and if not then can a hand dremel work? thx!

a dremel is your best friend for almost any audio job... and the speaker size is 4x6... that is only in 1 (or 2 depending how you look at it) direction/dimension so there will have to be some modification needed for it to work

when i put in my 6.5"s, i did have to use the dremmel a little bit to make the speaker fit in the space...but nothing too dramatic. and i used those adapters...they were so much easier to install than making wood mounts...i would highly recommend them.

and just so everyone knows i tried to use the brackets on mine, but it didnt work. my speakers were too deep and would hit the window. thats why i did what i did with the fiber glass and the vynel. you could also try kick panels.

All the kick panels I've been seeing for GAs only hold up to 6 1/8" speakers, is that true?

maybe ill be able to fabricate my own kick panels in stead of buying ones that are close to or over $100, c/ thats retarded to spend that much on something...
