The rear speakers in my Monsoon Equipped 01 GT are blown. I was wondering what would be an approx cost to get all the speakers in my car replaced, as well as adding a small sub and possibly an amp. I figure I'll have to go with an aftermarket HU. Just wondering what I might be looking at for a cost. I'm not looking for the top of the line, but something better than Monsoon, that will actually be able to take some volume and bass. I'm gonna have a shop install them, cause it sounds like the Monsoon is a bitch to deal with the electronics, and I don't know shit about audio or electronics for that matter.

ok for a real fast quote, you said not top notch, but lets go with avg stuff. lets say (all in USD)

130 = HU
40 = 2 Dual 6x9s from walmart (what i have, and their cheap and sound better than wally worlds pioneers)

70 = 2 5 1/4 for front
(look in the posts on here and a guy linked a site that has subs for $13, 12". even if they sound like crap, cant beat it!)
i paid 140 for my Boss 4 ch amp, the chaos ch 800, and i love it - www.sonicelectronix.com so thats about mid line stuff. good luck, and dont forget all the small other things like 30 for an amp hook up package, 10 for a 1 din hu mount, like 10 or 15 for a wire harness, then the speaker wires... good luck!

I doubt the ED subs will sound like crap, I've seen them backed by quite a few people on CarAudio.com for being good mid-level subs. If I didn't have my subs I would jump on that deal pretty quickly.

Wow, pretty broad topic. Throwing out my random numbers:

Head unit: 120-150
Rear: 75-100
Front 40-60

Optional:
Amp: 140-180
Sub: 80-100
Box: 25-40
Wiring Kit: Depends on wattage but 30-40?

Just a random toss off the top of my head.
