Ahhh yes.... winter is here and everything is frozen including some part of my washer fluid hose or something of it. Any ideas to get it going? I don't think the tank is frozen cause I hear the pump but does anyone else have ideas to over come this? Its suppose to snow bad soon and today was bad enough not being able to use the washer with the salt flying everywhere. I put a crap load of alcohol prestone stuff so what else should I do? Could I spray windshield de-icer at the washer nozzels would that unthaw it?

Next time, put deicing fluid in *before* it gets that cold ;)

In the meantime, I'd just head outside with a hair dryer and extension cord. Melt the stuff and pump some of the deicing fluid through. Done.

or take table salt and pour it in(table only so it desolves fast and doesnt hurt the pump)

OR pour deicing fluid in it now and it will eat away at the ice

Dont do that, not only is it bad on plastics and rubber it wont do anything to the ice.

You must thaw the frozen slug of ice with heat, no chemicals are gonna 'leach' their way thru the water in the system.
Park in a heated garage, or use a hairdryer as Coondog suggests.

It might be adequate to park in a wind-protected area and just run the engine up to temperature, enough so the engine bay gets eveything above freezing and therefore thaws the lines.

Then add freeze-proof stuff into the reservoir, and pump the non-protected stuff out thru the nozzle to keep it from happening again.
