Yes Mtx is a good brand but I have heard that system and it was not even close to the quality of any other MTX products I think you should save up a little more money and get something like this:

Subwoofer (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/MTX-Thunder-10-Subwoofer-T451004/sem/rpsm/oid/147569/catOid/-13093/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do)
Amplifier (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/MTX-TN250-1-Terminator-Amplifier-TN2501/sem/rpsm/oid/192801/catOid/-13095/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do)

I have the 10" versoin of those subs and they are pretty good. That amp isn't very powerful though, it won't give you much of a room for an upgrade.

MTX subs = bad. Used them in my first system. One was intermittently shorting. It destroyed 2 amps before I figured it out. Forced CC to replace, got a newer model MTX subs, which didn't sound as good and were too power hungry. Sold them a few months later.

I'm very pleased with my MTX Thunder 6000 12" DVC sub. It's going on 5 years old and still works like new. :)

my mtx subs and amps produced 124.x sittin in my grand am in 05... not bad for 6000 pro series being pushed by one 300x2 blue thunder amp. And blue thunder /6000 pro is old shit. What CC is offering is junk however. And it's not just MTX. EVERY company offers budget to top end equipement. It's all about RMS on the amp & the subs as well as magnet size, single or dual voice coil, etc... Either way if you want some serious bump in your trunk, you could/should spend about 600 for box, amp(s), subs & wiring

this stuff in the link is very low end, not worth any money IMO. I remember when that amp came out about 4 years ago. it came out as a Christmas special, basically an advertising item to bring people in. It was my job (as a salesman) to sell them up into a decent product. it is still being used as that, 4 years later.

if you want an inexpensive solution to get some low end in your car then get a bazooka basstube. they arent high end at all, but for the money itll be a nice clean package and itll add some low end frequencies to your car. dont expect to pay that little and get a crazy system, as they say "youve gotta pay to play". theres a reng a hole in my pocket.

oh and BTW this stuff cant be compared to the normal product line of MTX, as i said, this stuff is just meant to bring in customers. my personal opinion on MTX is that their older stuff (blue thunderamps, thunder amps, 8000 subs) is good, but i havnt liked what ive seen from them lately.

MTX has some good upper-end stuff, but as with any brand, the lower end should probably be avoided.

I recently installed a Thunder series sub in a friend's car, and it's nice.
