View Full Version : LIM problem in Albany

Finally happened. Bad time of year though. I don't have a garage and am not doing it in the snow. Yeah got some last night, well snow, not the other thing.
so for anyone around the Albany Area, where can I get it done cheap and correct? Or even a equipped shop that would rent me space.
and as a general question, does the Felpro kit include all the gaskets or do I need to ask for others if I do not plan on touching the fuel rail?
BTW, this is for the GF 01 GT

1. Do a 'search' in this forum for other threads, lots of helpful hints.
2. There's a thread in FAQ telling the entire procedure.
3. The FelPro kit includes all gaskets, but does NOT include theO-rings for the fuel injector reail connections (supply and return).
4. And if I were doing the LIM gasket, I would also replace the t-stat (since it's so easy to get to), and that will ned its own (additional) gasket.
The procedure takes ~5 hours for an experienced DIY mechanic with hand tools.
Mebbe twice that for a first-timer with mechanic skills.
This is definitely going to be finger-numbing COLD in Albany, so you REALLY need a heated garage.
Most military bases have a service area of some sort for the barracked-enlistees to work on their cars, mebbe you know somebody in the military with access (if there's even a base near you).
Good luck,

EGR gasket does not come in the kit....but then again not sure it has to be removed as I have yet to do mine, but saw it in another thread.

Its been awhile since I needed help and the few garages that I had a relationship with are gone now. No military bases either that I could get access to. We have snow now and where I live, the wind funnels through my driveway.
Due to loads of expenses, it just isn't a good time, never is. Last time, I hooked up with a mechanic who had some electrical shop needs that I took care of in exchange.
I was just hoping one of the Upstate guys may know of someone or had a garage and wanted to make some xmas cash
