I'm been having problems with my 99 grand am SE. Whenever i get to an stop the car turns off, i can put it in neutral and start the car right away.
Service engine has come on, i took it to a local autozone and it shows a oxygen sensor was bad. I replace that, same thing. I even order a ECM online since it seems the computer has gone bad. I order one programmed to my vehicle and still the same. Can anybody give me any idea on this.
The car runs fine, no overheating or nothing. It just shakes and turns off druing a complete stop.

i can sometimes press the gass pedal and stop from turning off.

thanks in advance for any input.

sounds like a fuel pump/filter problem...

You don't say so, but you have an automatic tranny, don't you?

If the manner in which the engine stalls is like a n00b driver on a manual-trannied car forgetting to step on the clutch pedal when arriving at a stop sign, then this is prolly the problem:
The Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) is hanging-up, because its electrical solenoid (which receives a signal from the PCM) isn't dis-engaging it.
No easy fix, and *usually* will NOT set a code or cause the CEL/SES to come 'on'.

Do a search on this forum for TCC, and check the FAQ's of this site.

Hope this helps.

PS: Is it a manual tranny, or do you have any problems starting the engine, either when 'cold' in the morning or 'warm' while running errands?
If so, then it *might* be a leaking Fuel Pressure Regulator (since pressing the accelerator seems to overcome the problem), but only if there are also other symptoms (or it's not an auto tranny).

PPS: Do a complete Battery Cable Service, according to the write-up in FAQ's (including checking inside the molded rubber boots).
The GA does weird things when the electrical flow to everything isn't excellent, and this *may* just do the trick for a balky TCC solenoid.
Frankly, it's the only thing you CAN do without having a tranny shop drop the tranny $$$
