New Gauge Cluster Overlays

My gauge cluster overlay project is coming along nicely. I have a pic here of the white carbon fiber version. Hopefully in a week or so, I will have a finished and installed picture.

This is white carbon fiber and I will be able to make different colors of glow.

Looks good so far. As far as installation...do these just stick right to the stock faces?

The installation will be a process just like the gauge clusters on PFYC, you have to remove the factory face. I'll keep updating as I move along with the project. Thanks

I bought an SE cluster and made this one. Now I just need to rip the GT version out of mine and make a set for my car. The first set took several days of design and about 6-8 hrs assembly. I just don't know if I will have time to release these or else, it won't be worth it to offer these. As for price, I can't beat ProCarParts $59.99 cluster, but I should be able to do better than the PFYC cluster at $130.


I am just looking for feedback as to whether I should go forward with the project or abandon it. I can make the backlight glow in almost every color. I can make the KM/H ones aswell.

Any interest?

I would very much like to have these for my 2002 SE!!!! I have just about everything in the inside done in blue so i'm just waitin on something to come out!!!!

I would get yours only if it was like the one on PFYC and CustomGrandAm.com.... glows red and doesn't cover over the warning lights with the holes. I personally don't like the holes all around it or be able to see the warning label words.

Are you referring to the first picture? If so, that has ONLY the centre overlay attached and is notcomplete ...

Okay, guess I can't speak English either.... what I meant is I don't want the white to cover the area where my warning lights are.... just the speedometer, tachometer, temp, and gas gauge like the one you see on PFYC.com and customgrandam.com.... and they glow red.

howz bout soem overlays for us canadians??, some in km/h all you'd have to redo is the speedo one you could leave the others as they are.

Well, now I understand what you mean but by looking at the picture, I am sure Chris could simply NOT include the 'outer pieces' so you would in a sence end up with only the speedo, tach and the two smaller gauges ... also, he mentioned "different colors of glow" would be available :)

OK there has been a ton of questions about these on several forums and via email so I will offer some updated pics soon and answer any questions you might have.

1. These are replacement gauges, not overlays so you will need to remove the stock face and apply the new gauges.

2. I will include a full layer of sticky adhesive tape (used in plaque/trophies industry).

3. You will have to remove the needles to do the install and you will need a scan tool in order to align all the needles properly. My brother had one on my install and it was cake with it.

4. While you have your needles off I can offer a little free help in changing the color of your needles with the purchase of my gauges. ( I changed mine from orange to red :) )

4. I can custom add GT, SE etc logos or custom logos to make your gauges 100% unique. Also I can offer different colors of glow to suit your needs.

5. No wiring in required, the stock backlight requires all the light needed to power my gauges.

6. I will make my next set for my car with the black section of the dummy lights to hide them.

7. I have to finish my second set for my car before I can take orders or offer these :)

Here are a couple pics of my first set that I made for my car. As you can see they need adjustments and I am working those issues out now. Hopefully in a few days I will have the second test sample pics out. Thanks Chris

Those are absolutely tight, I would definitely love to get a set with GT on it and in regular MPH. I would need them to light up green, and would love to be able to change my needles over to green somehow as well. Definitely willing to pay as much as PYFC's price if it means u can do em in green! No rush either, cuz I know how the school thing goes, I'm working 7 days a week at 2 jobs PLUS taking 15 hours full time in college! :banghead: :nic:

Ok everyone, all issues are worked out and right now I will take a few orders but I can't offer them on my website yet because I will have to quit school. All are custom made to your liking so they will take some time :)

I won't recommend that you buy them without access to a scan tool or an auto-mechanic with one or maybe a performance shop that would be willing to install them for you.

You will need to remove the stock face and yes the needles too. Also you won't have a dimmer switch that adjusts the intensity, the stock lighting lights through the face to reveal the color. You will understand if you have bought one of my HVAC's etc. As for price $120 will be for the replacement customized to your liking and your color (red, yellow, blue, aqua-blue, green, orange, etc). Also I can make different colors of faces (red, blue, green, maroon, silver, white, white carbon fiber, black carbon fiber etc.

All customers will receive a picture of what the gauge cluster will look like before it is shipped. Some colors like black carbon fiber with blue glow will make it harder but not impossible to see the #'s during the day unless you turn on your interior lighting.

So I suggest to you, select contrasting colors.

Also notice the red needles :) I can probably make them in all sorts of colors, I also want to make an illumination kit so there will be a halo around the needles at night. I just need to experiement a little.
