Just thought I'd post some pics of the GTP and show off the new things I did to it. Though I never got a chance to take it out for a "real" photo shoot, this is the best I got until Spring. Not pictured is my new rear window arrowhead that reads "GTP" below (custom made by customgrandam.com)

There are about 110K - 111K on the engine and about 122K on the car itself. After dropping just over 1K into struts, wheel bearing, oil leak, and all kinds of other crap that the previous owner said was fixed (BUT WASN'T) it's finally running right and hasnt let me down yet :)
Thanks for the compliments guys!

Nice, I stopped liking the Grand Prix after '96. It's just too bad those years had the DOHC 3.4. I'd rather a NA 3.8 than those 3.4 myself.

You should have bought mattsgtp's special edition GTP with the L67 SC 3.8 swap done from his '97 F1 GP.
Now that I look at it, it's funny because both of thier names are Matt, and both have simular GTP, except MattsGTP has the swap.

I couldn't buy GenII GP, i couldnt afford it and it would be too tempting to modify it, which defeats the purpose of a DD. I agree, I'd much rather have the 3.8L V6. But I luv this engine more than the 3100 in the GA, that thing is a DOG!!

I have *ALWAYS* loved socket headlights like the 3rd gen Camaro. Same with these lights.

I agree, it really makes the front end look MEAN! And maybe it's just me, but if you look at the front but not at the loweer bumper it looks almost like an early 90's Firebird....but maybe it's just me

As for the headlights, correct body, wrong name. Camaros had the socket headlights, where as the firebirds and trans ams were pop up headlights. I was really disappointed when GM decided to get rid of the socket head lights with the most recent generation of Camaros. (Not the NEW camaro)

I've always thought those cars were freaking awesome looking, but I never knew they had that engine. I've wanted to get my hands on a 3.4l DOHC. I know they had a ton of potential and power in the prototype stages, but what did they realistically get with the transmission?

I looked into this. If I remember right the 3.8 will take the 3.4DOHC off the line with the torque, but since my car is lighter and has more power I'll catch up and beat it in the 1/4 mile...I think. Either way, it's extremely close!! My friend can stomp me in her '98 GTP with the Supercharger off, but still they will wipe the floor with any 3.1 or lower, most likely even the GA's 3400 with 175 versus my 210.

I remember reading an article that the engine guys either had 245 or 285 horsepower, but the tranny guys couldn't pull off anything that would take that kinda power.

By socket headlights do you mean sealed beam?

Not sure what you mean by sealed beam. What I mean is that the headlight itself is inset into the bumper. Think of it as the headlights being in a cave or something. Inset into the bumper... uhh.. Don't know how else to describe it.

Ok, I guess recessed would be the word for it.
A sealed beam headlight are the rectangular and round glass halogen headlights that they used to have on cars before they started using plastic housings with replaceable bulbs.

Sorry guys but in case u havent heard I'm selling the GTP :( I'm really sad to see her go, even after only 2 months, but my friend wants to get rid of her '98 black GTP for a truck and for $3800, so I can't refuse! I've been in love with her car since I saw it. The good news is that one of my good friends is VERY interested in buying my car!
It's been fun, Mikaela!

Also you know what has been done with this car, what problems you may need to fix in the future, etc. You have no idea how this other GP has been treated from the beginning. I say stay with the '95 because it is definitely more sexy! lol.

As I mentioned I am buying this car from my best friend, she's practically my sister, so I know exactly what condition it's in. We've taken it on several road trips, I've had countless hours behind the wheel and know it inside and out. Tho the '95 is extremely hot it's no "Selene" as my friend calls it. I was originally trying to get a GenII but at the time couldn't afford it.
Still, I hope my friend who's interested in my car DOES buy her. I don't want to see it go so soon, plus I know that with him it would be well taken care of.

She's buying her boyfriend's Chevy Silverado. It's a beast, both our Grand Ams could walk all over it up and down Main!!
