View Full Version : Intended mods for 2004 sc/t I just bought, need advice :)

I just bought a 2004 sc/t with 27k miles on it an was wondering if it would be a decent setup to get the rsm s/c setup (kit shortcomings fixed of course, i read the forums and got the solutions for known issues with kit) along with s&s headers+borla catback and 65mm throttle body + hptuners (have cash for all mods).
and what hp should I expect? I'm not trying to mash the gas all the time and stress the tranny, (i'll prob pick up a spare tranny from the junkyard anyway just in case) but am going with the "sleeper look" (and to give the occasional high school import kid a scare)
What do u guys think, any suggestions/ideas?

I have a fixed up RSM kit that may be for sale with the metal shielded bearing and stronger key pins. The darn thing has been sitting at my house taking up space and Ive never gotten around to putting it on. I have a set of trailblazer injectors (28#/hr direct swap) to compliment it too. If you might be interested let me know and we can talk.

intake, headers, exhaust you'll be around high 14s low 15s I wouldn't worry about stressing the tranny you'll still be well under 200 whp with all those mods

Well considering that the Powertuner is going out of business I would get HP Tuner!!!
There is a guy on the boards that was offering a rebuilt tranny but I cant remember his name know. Just search for tranny mod or something and it should come up.

Josh,
DHP is not going out of business. The hardware supplier has stopped making the chips that are used and the firmware was having issues so Charles cant get any more units. DHP pcm's will still be for sale and anyone that has a PT is going to be able to use the forum and hopefully now that he doesnt have to worry about new units he can develop some new updates.

Hmmmm thats not what I heard from a forum goer. I heard that he was going to stop making updates AND stop supporting it. Could still be conflicting info seeing how I talked to him the day after the annoucement.
Soooo how you been man?? Selling the RSM? That sucks if you are.

Not to derail the thread but Charles poped in to say he will continue support for current customers though there will be no more units available.
Anyway, yeah Im trying to sell the RSM kit. Its been taking up space since last Christmas time and to be honest I could use the money cause the house I just bought has no insulation in the downstairs walls and my gas bill is friggin outrageous. I havent given up all hope for a boosted setup but it may not be for several more years now (thats why Im not selling my tuner).
Back on topic:
Will, Im still waiting to hear back from you on whether you want this or not because Ill be picking up the parts from my house over the weekend (living away from my wife during the week due to work). I would just like to know so I can have all the parts with me if you are serious about buying as I dont want to delay shipping it to you any more than I have to.
