Alright here's the story, i'm having that famed 3.4 liter intake gasket problem. I haven't gotten it fixed yet. Now my car was sitting for round about a amonth cuz i didn't have money to fix stuff going on with it. i got a new thermostat housing which a guy who replaced my stat broke. So I fixed it which i should've done in the first place and put the stock stat back in. Now at first my fans weren't turning on. then today they turned on fine. I filled the coolant system up. Everything seems ok. Now i'm back down to the original problem. that's fine with me. However, i am not getting any heat in the car at all.....I turn it up and cold air. anyone have an idea. I don't, i'm stumped, and i have to put this car back on the road. Thanks everyone for any info in advance, i'll be checking the post every hour.

So, your saying that everything looks fine but you don't get any warm air out of the heater? What does your engine temp gauge indicate? Is the engine getting to normal operating temperature? Are your fans still NOT kicking in?

Are you dripping any coolant or any in your passenger side floorboard. Im no mechanic (learning as i go along) but my heater core went bad and i had no heat either so i bypassed it. O and i want to also mention my fan wouldn't kick on either it was the switch for the fan that was bad.

Which fan are your referring to? Engine cooling fan or heater fan?

OK!!!!!!! I just threw some plates on the car and test drove it for about 25 mins. and everything seems GREAT. I'm so Happy!!! My heat started working as i got to 200. And the temperature stayed at 200 the whole time, ya know dropping below and above a bit, just normal. I am just going to check the coolant tomorrow, make sure it's at a good level. Then i should be GOOD TO GO.

It was the cooling fans on the radiator, the engine fans that weren't going on.. But they are now!!Thanks for the quick reply's you guys are great. I can always count on everyone in the Forum to help me out!

just a littel FYI, those fans dont go on all the time, only when your engine hits a certain temp.

There is something so wrong. I can't take this too much longer. My fans on the radiator just aren't turning on no matter where the temp on the engine is. I checked fuses. I am getting smoke coming out of my radiator around 200. I can't figure this out. Someone please help. I know i have to get my intake gasket replaced like most of us 3.4l fellow have done. Anyone have any ideas, something to check, i pulled a fan plug and put it back in. ???????????????this is killiing me, i can't drive the car and i need one!!I don't have the money to bring it to a shop either!

Three things come to mind... I am going to guess that you may need a new temp sensor , pressure cap, or the air bled out of the system
If there is an airlock from changing the stat you will get no heat, also your temp sensor will get the wrong info and will read cooler than the engine really is causing your fans not to turn on when they are needed.
If your pressure cap is at fault the coolant will boil before the temp sensor has called for the fans to turn on.

Make sure to check your oil for signs of antifreeze in it ,you could be loosing coolant from your intake into your oil pan also causing these problems.
