My 95 ga was hesitating very badly and idling low but kept running after turning motor off car would not restart.
While driving it was struggling to pick up speed then smoothed out at about 50 mph. Thinking maybe coil packs but could use some advice.

Coils and housing are certainly both worth checking. May as well check the plugs while you're at it...

Can anyone tell me where the fuel pump is on this car? I bought it used and it has no manual. I replaced both coils and the plugs. Beggining to think its not getting fuel. Also how much does electronic ignition depend on battery power. Not a very strong battery in car and is 3 years old. Appreciate any help!

Part of the modular fuel sending unit inside the tank. As for the battery if a jump makes things better that should tell you something... Did you inspect the plastic coil housing carefully? If it's never been replaced consider it suspect...

Brian,
When you turn the key, there is a click where the dash lights and what not come on then another click and the fuel pump should run. The next click should turn the car over. Listen for the fuel pump. If you don't hear it from inside the car, get some one to turn the key while you listen. If you don't hear the fuel pump, then thats it. Or the power going to it is gone. (fuse)
On my 89 2.3 there was 3 fuel lines that had to be disconnected at the tank. Two big straps that go aound the tank to hold it up. I also had to loosen a few of the tail pipe hanger mount brackets to pull it. Not a bad job if the tank is near empty. Insane if it's full.

Thanks for all the advice. Turns out tensioner on timing chain broke. Had to replace it the chain gears and crank sensor. Got real lucky it didn't do any other damage. Compression at 125 per cylinder, and car is running great. Thanks again for the help.

You may be right about compression, I dont really know. The car was recently going through a variety of different problems. I didn't want to keep dealing with it mainly because alot of problems in cooling system. So I traded it in on 2003 GA se1, with 3400 v-6. Thanks again for the help.
