another question about the PCM from MP Racing. Did you guys HAVE to take it to a dealer to have them flash it or do some kind of programming for it to work? i would have no idea on how to program one of these to work correctly. im scared that just messing with the PCM period will mess something up electronically. maybe some feedback on MP Racing PCMs would be helpful :D

Just pull out the old and slide in the new.

I have DHP's PCM and i drove for over 500 miles before i had it flashed. I dont think i really even needed to.

You are not supposed to have your after market PCM flashed by the dealer. I repeat do not tell your dealer to flash your PCM. They will reflash it to stock peramiters(sp?).

Put the new PCM in and goto your dealer, ask them to do a CASE learn also known as a Crank case position learn. They may charge you a small fee or do it for free. It only takes them 5 minutes to do.

Yeah forgot to mention that, dont tell the dealer to *flash* it.
I just used that word as a generic term, the dealer will literaly do it.
I had ZZP do mine for $25.

On my Grand am 3400 I have Headers, Hi-flow cat, full 2.5 piping to a flowmasters 80 series, and CAI. I Recently got the MP racing PCM put it in, and noticed a bigger difference from the pcm then I did from full exhaust and cai. I did not have my car case learned though...

Of course they do, they where the first to tune these cars. It isnt any better than MP and isnt any worse.
