I just bought a 2004 Grand AM GT V6. I have been doing some research into performance modifications for it. I'm planning on starting on the intake, throttle body, intake manifold and continue on till i replace the exhaust.
Anyway... I'm not sure about what performance intake to buy. I think I'm leaning toward the Doctor speed's Cold air box intake. Does anyone know of a Intake that utilizes a ITG Foam filter? I'm not to fond of the K&N filters. But can settle for one if that is my only choice.
I was also thinking about buying one of these Replacement ITG filters from Focussport:
http://focussport.com/coolflo.htm
or this eurosport web site: http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com/itg_filters.html
and using it in place of the K&N filter. My only worry is if it would fit...Anyone know what size neck fittings the K&N filters have that come with the doctor speed kits?
ITG filter info: http://www.eurosportacc.com/aboutitg.htm
Thanks Guys

Search button is our friend.
Do you think that I haven't utilized the search button? Not only on this forum but on a couple web search engines. I have since sent a inquiry to Doctor speed to find out how big the K&N neck fitting is that they sell with their kit is. Also asked them if I could buy their kit without the K&N filter.
Hmm... I have done a search on this forum for ITG filters and came up with nothing. Ive also done searches on the web and havent been able to find a kit for 2004 Grand am GT that uses a ITG filter. Only the K&N filter....
So where is this magic SEARCH button that you speak of?? Show me or perhaps post a link to something helpful. You obviously dont know of a kit that uses a ITG filter. So do you know what size the neck fitting is to the K&N filter in the doctorspeed kit? I'm guessing that its 3inch piping that is used. Is it I dont own one do you? Forgiver my ignorance but I am new to the forum and just recently bought my grand am.
Why do I want to use a ITG filter? Because I have used both K&N and ITG filters. I simply prefer ITG over K&N.
Thank you for time and I am humbled before you almighty moderator.

Never even heard of a ITG brand filter. IIRC my K&N filter was a 3", but it's not from Doctorspeed.
However my comment about the search button being your friend would uncover why you might want to rethink purchasing from Doctor Speed.

If he is dead set on the ITG filter I would suggest just purchasing a inexpensive CAI, his own filter, and making one himself.
Yeah thats what I'm planning on doing. Just need to make sure of the correct neck fitting size of the filter. I believe 3" piping is the standard used with most intake systems.

I believe that's all you need (other than the filter of course), I'm not 100% sure though as I don't have a CAI, only the Doctor Speed Cold Air Box like you had wanted.
