Check Engine Light

Okay, so I'm not even sure if this is where I post this...but I'm so pissed at my car right now I need help. My check engine light just came on. It's flashing and my car shakes when you drive it. (I didn't go anywhere I just noticed it and pulled back into the parking spot.) I replaced the spark plugs (well the 3 top ones and they didn't look all that bad) and all the spark plug wires in December...so I don't know how that could be the problem..but maybe it is? I don't know someone help me! I'm so frusterated with my PEICE OF S**T GRAND AM!

If you have an Autozone nearby, They offer a code scan for free. Have them check it and see what codes are latched. Sure sounds like a couple of cylinders aren't firing. I had the same thing happen on my 97 and it was bad plugs. When you replaced the plugs in December, did you use the same ones that were already in the engine? Another thing that could cause the problem is a bad ignition coil. You have 3 coils and each one fires 2 cylinders. So if a coil goes bad, you lose 2 cylinders. Also check your plug wires and make sure they are firmly connected on both the coils and the plugs. And make sure they are in good shape.
