Okay...so now I have another question... My car stopped shaking but the light is still on. My steering wheel is rubbing when I turn so I think I need more power steering fluid. Would this possibly cause the check engine light to come on? (It's really not that low, but I'm pretty sure I need more) PLEASE HELP!!!!!

No, I can't see where low power steering fluid will cause a check engine light. You still need to get the computer scanned and find out what error codes are latched. Even though the engine is running OK now, it could indicate condition that will come back if it is not fixed.

I think I'm just going to take it in. I have no money and I don't know how I'm going to pay for it...but I don't really have any other choice. WHY DO CARS ALWAYS HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT?!

Sorry to say, but it is the curse of car ownership. Murphy's rule applies all the time. "If it can go wrong, it will go wrong, at the most inconvienent time!!" What have you done thus far to troublshoot the problem yourself?

:offtopic: My car always breaks down in the best places and best times. My house, my house, and my garage. and never when i needed to be at school or work. I guess I'm lucky. Knock on wood.

Btw, have you checked the gas cap?? I've heard that causes the dreaded little light to come on.

Yes, the gas cap will cause the light to come on but, it won't make the engine run rough.

Is it the service engines soon light or the other light if its the service engine soon then it usually is something electrical like a light bulb out or something like that

Thanks for all your help guys. I'm happy to say my light turned off and my car runs fine???? Don't know what that was all about. Hopefully (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) it won't turn back on! :bananna:

If your steering wheel is rubbing then there's something in between the wheel and the column rubbing. I've know what you're talking about and it's very annoying. Usually if there's a squealing when you turn or if the wheel is turned all the way and it makes noise should you be concerned about the fluid, but from what you said it doesn't sound like a steering issue. As for the the light on in the car that could be several things. That's something you'll have to take in and get it checked out. It may not see like a problem but it could be a big one later on. If I remember correctly I've heard that your car will store codes and the check engine light will turn off after so long. Even if it goes out you should still get it checked out. If you need any more info PM me.

It's the opposite. Service Vehicle Soon is a BCM light (lights, electrical systems, etc) and Service Engine Soon is an emissions system light (O2 sensor, MAF, etc).
