What is the best air filter for the GA? I want one of them, but i was wondering which one would give me the most. I want to be able to hear it for the most part, I'd like to notice it performance wise as well, and i know it probably wont give me better gas millage. So which one is better? My friend has a short ram and when he idles it makes a really annoying humming noise, will this occur with the SR on the GA? Thanks!

ok, well my brother told me that three of his friends motors blew up because water was sucked in from the cold air intake. Will this occur? If i do go with a short ram since its cheaper, is it pretty much the same?

So im probably going with the short ram. If it draws to much heat i'll get a heat shield made up. Does the short ram sound better than the CAI or are they the same?

while we no longer pay for a banner here we still have a link to this site on our store's homepage so others may find their way here since I believe many will find this place helpfull in their efforts to mod their GA ;)

First off, most major performance air filter manufactures are all going to give you simular results. K&N, PowerFlow, Fram AirHog, AMSoil, Green Performance Filters, ITG, Wix, ect. Car Craft has tested filters a while back in both filtering and performance on a engine dyno and all results came up simular. If you are curious about air flow and filtering here is a interesting study someone did.

What kind of car is making a Humming Noise? Sounds like it's vibrating against something, and no you shouldnt expect this from the GA if install properly.
No one 'blew up' their engne by injesting water, it just doesn't happen, it's not combustable. However for them to damage their engine by using a cold air intake they must have had it located in a aweful spot and drove thru a small pond. On the GA the CAI is gaurd by the inner fender lining, maybe once or twice I've gone through a very large puddle or should I say flood roadway, and the car hesitated afterwards. However I have had the same effects driving my truck before it even had a cold air intake. Most likely due to the ignition getting soaked, not from it injesting water. If you are that worried you can purchase water by pass valve that is made of rubber trap doors that open when vaccume incress as the end of your intake is plugged by say something like a soaked filter. However, IMO, it's a complete waste and only a good way to let more dirt into the engine.

There is NO REASON why you can't purchase from MPRacing because you read about them here ... there is also no reason why you can't discuss them (or any other manufacturer for that matter) here as well being the GAOC doesn't have SPONSORS, we have SUPPORTERS and sell Banner Ad Spaces and NOT the ability to limit what our members can or cannot talk about ... while this might not be optimum for business, we believe it promotes honest and open comparisons from and for members to base their purchase decisions on.
